Raspberry Pi audio quality

Hello - I've been testing the "Callie" voice on the Raspberry Pi and have been experiencing quality issue (i.e. clicks and pops during playback).
Is there a recommended configuration for the Pi?

I've been having the same problem. I'm guessing that since you haven't had a reply in almost two months it's not a concern. I'm starting to wish I didn't pay for the voice since the quality isn't as good as free solutions.
