Asterisk v1.4 not recognizing format

I am successfully generating a file with this command:

swift -n Diane -o /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/tmp/Test_123.wav -p cst/f0_shift=.8,speech/rate=190,audio/deadair=2,audio/channels=1,audio/sampling-rate=8000 ' Test 123 '

But then from Asterisk v1.4 I get the following:

I have had this working in previous versions. Ideas?

I have asterisk running on my mac and swift generating audio files:

swift -o /tmp/$agi_uniqueid.wav -p audio/channels=1,audio/sampling-rate=8000,audio/encoding=pcm8

as soon as I ask asterisk to

stream file /tmp/$agi_uniqueid #

back comes...

Help! Anyone ever get an answer on this?
